Assistant Construction Manager – Transmission & Distribution Onsite: Houston, TX Overview Brooksource is looking to hire directly with one of our Engineering clients for an Assistant Construction Manager position based in Houston, TX. This role will support large-scale projects across industries such as aviation, energy, commercial, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, power generation, transmission & distribution, and water. The Assistant Construction Manager will work closely with senior project leadership to support day-to-day management of project safety, quality, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and subcontractor coordination. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) and program management projects, while helping drive success across diverse, high-impact initiatives. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with project leadership to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and cost metrics are met across all phases of construction. Assist with risk reviews, project execution planning, and subcontractor/vendor management. Support the development of RFPs, contracts, purchase orders, and change orders. Help manage site mobilization/demobilization, permitting, and materials logistics. Coordinate documentation, project reporting, invoicing, audits, and closeout. Partner with Superintendents and Site Managers to ensure compliance with safety, health, quality, and contractual requirements. Analyze and track labor, equipment costs, crew rates, and production rates to ensure project efficiency. Support onboarding, training, and workforce compliance for craft and field teams. Provide cost reporting, forecasting, earned value management, and change management support. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience. 3+ years of relevant construction experience required. Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access). Experience with project management, scheduling, cost control, and document control software preferred. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume project environments. Experience on construction project sites within industries such as aviation, commercial, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water is preferred. Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Must meet company driving requirements. Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
