RCG is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with shopping center leasing and will be comfortable working independently alongside in-house corporate counsel and collaborating with multiple company departments - including property management, collections, capital transactions, leasing, and accounting/finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently draft, revise, and manage retail lease agreements, amendments, assignments, and related documents. Prepare and review tenant correspondence. Analyze and track exclusive use rights, use restrictions, signage rights, and other lease compliance matters. Coordinate with lenders and tenants on consent and approval processes for leasing documents. Assist the legal team in liaising with outside counsel regarding tenant bankruptcy proceedings, collections, and eviction matters. Assist the legal team in maintaining organized lease files and trackers. Research and summarize lease and property-level issues for the legal, leasing, and property management teams. Coordinate preparation and dissemination of negotiated leases for execution and delivery to lease parties, including finalizing all exhibits and schedules thereto. Coordinate requests for estoppels, REA Estoppels, and subordination agreements related to newly executed and existing leases.
Qualifications: Minimum
5+ years of experience
as a commercial real estate paralegal, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department with a focus on retail/shopping centers. Strong drafting and editing skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, employment reference, and credit check
