Role

CDL Delivery Driver at Hajoca Lansdale in Lansdale, PA.

Pay is $20 per hour at this location.

About the Role

You will:

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations. Deliveries may include job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, Hajoca locations, other wholesalers’ facilities, or other management-directed locations.
  • Load the truck with Hajoca merchandise and secure loads to prevent shifting or damage. Ensure necessary equipment to unload is available and affix DOT hazmat placards if hauling hazardous materials over 1,000 lbs.
  • Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to delivery destinations. Review documents to ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload merchandise at the receiving site, obtain legible signatures per policy, and collect outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries before releasing merchandise where applicable.
  • Resolve shipping discrepancies with customers quickly and accurately.
  • Load merchandise at other locations as needed, including vendor locations, customer returns, and purchases from other wholesalers.
  • Provide sales leads discovered during deliveries.
  • Inspect the truck and required parts for safe operation before departure; keep the cab and body clean. Report mechanical issues to management and complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when applicable.
  • At day end, remove keys from the truck and store them in the approved location. Complete required safety and compliance training as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

About You

You must be able to drive a vehicle over 26,001 lbs. As a CDL driver, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a valid CDL for the vehicle being driven, with hazmat endorsement if required
  • Have a driving record that meets Company policy for Authorized Drivers
  • Pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before starting and at least every two years while employed

Our ideal candidate will also:

  • Know the laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles, particularly those under DOT regulations
  • Safely operate any delivery vehicle with GVWR 26,001 lbs or more
  • Understand safety precautions in warehouse and material handling environments
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers
  • Remain calm and effective in stressful or emergency situations
  • Learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment and company computer systems used in the delivery process
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Perform basic arithmetic as needed
