Receptionist role at Charter Schools USA (CSUSA).

Job Purpose

To join a team with the mission: Relentless Commitment to Student Greatness in School and in Life. As a Receptionist, you will serve as the primary reception and information resource for the assigned location by assisting walk-in traffic and by answering telephone inquiries. Provide supplementary clerical, computer, and operational support to the school. This position is the focal point for the school.

How You Will Impact Education

  • Leads by example in adherence and knowledge of the CSUSA and school's Vision, Mission and Values, demonstrated by ethical behavior and a team-oriented approach.
  • Follows through on duties and projects.
  • Completes training programs to increase skill and proficiency related to assignments.
  • Reviews current developments, literature, and technical information related to job responsibility.
  • Follows company policies, and federal and state laws.
  • Ensures adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Consults directly with CSUSA personnel when applicable.

Front Office Responsibilities

  • Greets and directs walk-in traffic, provides general information, and makes referrals to offices and services as appropriate.
  • Answers phone inquiries with general information and/or by connecting calls to offices and services as appropriate.
  • Maintains a master guide of activities, events, and related information for the school.
  • Performs clerical tasks such as scheduling and maintaining records of school activities, tracking student attendance, check-in/check-out of supplies and materials, photocopying, typing, data input, mail, filing, and email transmission.
  • Schedules appointments and meetings, reserves conference rooms, prepares materials, and maintains calendars.
  • Responds to requests for materials to be mailed and assists with mailing general school information to parents.
  • Maintains confidentiality of records.
  • Serves as liaison for administrators and teachers.
  • Keeps Front Office organized and ensures information sheets for parents are stocked.
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies and coordinates ordering within budget with direction from Principal or Business Administrator.
  • Provides passes to students as appropriate.
  • Orients and situates substitute teachers.
  • Contacts parents on waiting lists when openings arise.

Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a school office setting is highly desired.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills.
  • Professional office presence with strong customer service.
  • Positive attitude and ability to collaborate with others while maintaining a pleasant working environment.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Bilingual a plus, but not required.
  • Understanding of and commitment to company values.
  • Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
  • Ability and willingness to take directions and solicit feedback to improve performance.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, written, and communication skills; ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Reliably on time and able to follow instructions.
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy; strives to implement best practices and positive character education.
  • CSUSA may determine additional acceptable qualifications.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Usual office working conditions.

Physical Demands

Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. No significant physical exertion required. Travel within or outside of state. Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.

FLSA Overtime: Job is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
