Position Summary

The Director, Human Resources will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for developing and executing the company’s human capital strategy in alignment with organizational goals. This role oversees all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee engagement, labor relations, compensation and benefits, organizational development, and compliance. The Director will act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and inclusion across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership — Partner with executives to align HR initiatives with business objectives and long-term strategy; drive workforce planning and succession management to support growth and operational needs.
  • Talent Management & Development — Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top industry talent; oversee leadership development, training programs, and performance management processes.
  • Employee Engagement & Culture — Promote a culture of collaboration, safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement; develop engagement strategies that strengthen employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Compensation, Benefits & Compliance — Oversee compensation structures, benefits programs, and recognition initiatives to ensure competitiveness; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as energy industry standards.
  • HR Operations & Systems — Implement and optimize HR policies, procedures, and technologies that enhance efficiency and scalability; provide data-driven insights and reporting to inform decision-making at the executive level.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a director-level role.
  • Experience in the energy, utilities, or related industrial sector strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in building and leading HR teams in dynamic, growth-oriented environments.
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
