Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Life Sciences Business Analyst (BA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong domain knowledge in healthcare, life sciences, payer/provider, or pharmaceutical systems and proven expertise in business analysis, requirements gathering, and regulatory compliance. This role will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver effective healthcare IT solutions.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders in healthcare and life sciences domains.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements for development teams.
- Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, User Stories, Use Cases, Process Flows, and Wireframes.
- Collaborate with payers, providers, pharma clients, or clinical teams to understand workflows and improve processes.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, FDA, GxP, GDPR as applicable).
- Partner with QA teams to support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and validate system functionality.
- Work with data teams to support healthcare reporting, analytics, and dashboards.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups).
- Act as a liaison between business users, product owners, developers, and testers.
- Prepare status reports, presentations, and stakeholder updates as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Life Sciences, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Healthcare or Life Sciences domain.
- Strong knowledge of payer (claims, eligibility, enrollment), provider (EHR/EMR, patient care), or pharmaceutical (clinical trials, R&D, drug safety) processes.
- Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ICD-10, GxP.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel, SQL (basic queries).
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of data analytics, reporting tools, or BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud-based healthcare platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP for healthcare solutions).
- Experience in telemedicine, digital health, or patient engagement platforms.
- Certification in CBAP, CSM, SAFe, or healthcare compliance.
