Who We Are
The Henri Stern Watch Agency manages all business operations for Patek Philippe in the United States. Patek Philippe has a long & significant history in the US, with Patek Philippe timepieces being sold in this market since the 1850's. In 1935, Henri Stern, second generation owner of Patek Philippe, solidified a presence in the US by leasing an office space in Rockefeller Center, where the company remains. The Henri Stern Watch Agency was officially incorporated in 1946 and continues to provide distribution & repair servicing to authorized retailers & customers across the United States.
Role Overview
The Henri Stern Watch Agency is seeking skilled Watchmakers to join our NYC team. We are looking for watchmakers at both basic quartz and mechanical levels, as well as watchmakers with more technical experience working with grand complications (chronographs, perpetual calendars). You will work collaboratively within a team of watchmakers, applying focus, precision, and craftsmanship to ensure every timepiece meets our global standards. You will use specialized tools and equipment to diagnose, repair, modify, and replace components across a wide range of timepieces. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential for success in this high-precision environment.
What You Will Be Doing
Under the supervision of the Workshop Manager, based on experience and technical ability, you would be expected to work on a range of timepieces ranging from manually wound movements through more complicated timepieces including vertical clutch chronographs, perpetual calendars, and manual wound chronographs.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform detailed diagnostics, modifications, and optimization of components for peak performance.
Diagnose, service, and replace defective or worn components with precision.
Verify performance and water resistance using timing machines and vacuum testing equipment.
Maintain tools, equipment, and machinery for peak performance.
Support workshop operations through inventory management and organization.
Uphold Patek Philippe's global standards for quality and repair timelines.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an individual with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:
3-5 years + of watchmaking experience.
Solid micromechanical skills and knowledge of escapement systems, hairspring adjustments, and parts optimization.
Ability to work confidently with workshop tools and test equipment.
Apply critical thinking to problem-solve and meet repair timelines.
The candidate will need to be willing and able to travel to Geneva,Switzerland for an extended period (up to 4 weeks) for training.
