Safety Specialist - Commercial Construction

About the Role: Our Client is a national General Contractor with a strong reputation in the Texas construction market. They are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join their construction team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety protocols to ensure a secure and compliant jobsite for all personnel. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety plans in compliance with OSHA, local, and company regulations. Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments. Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions. Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for all on-site personnel. Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, and documentation. Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; provide follow-up reports and corrective action recommendations. Collaborate closely with Project Management, Superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel to enforce safety standards. Monitor compliance with fall protection, PPE, hazard communication, and environmental requirements. Assist in the coordination of subcontractor safety programs and reviews. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator in commercial construction, preferably with historic or renovation projects. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. OSHA 30 Certification and First Aid/CPR Required Degree in Occupational Health & Safety preferred Ability to work on-site.
