The Business Relationship Officer supports the growth and management of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio, which includes commercial real estate, multifamily, and other business-purpose loans. This role focuses on relationship development, loan origination, underwriting support, and portfolio management. The officer works closely with clients to meet their lending needs while cross-selling the Bank’s full suite of financial products and services.

Responsibilities: Originate and manage approved types of commercial loans, ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures. Develop strong relationships with existing and prospective business clients; assess financial needs and recommend appropriate lending and banking solutions. Evaluate commercial loan requests through initial underwriting, cash flow analysis, and collateral review. Prepare or assist in credit presentations and Greenlight Memos, ensuring accurate credit and collateral analysis. Coordinate loan processing activities and support closing by working closely with processors, underwriters, and legal counsel. Maintain communication with clients throughout the loan process to address questions and resolve documentation or underwriting issues. Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal lending policies, including HMDA, ECOA, OFAC, and Fair Lending guidelines. Monitor loan performance and participate in annual loan reviews, audits, or examinations as needed. Participate in loan restructures, renewals, assumptions, and modifications when appropriate. Proactively cross-sell treasury services, depository accounts, and other bank products to deepen client relationships.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending or relationship banking. Strong knowledge of credit analysis, financial statement review, and real estate collateral. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach. Proficient in Microsoft Office and banking/lending platforms.
