SHR Talent is partnering with a growing U.S. manufacturing organization, a large-scale production facility in the Southeast, which emphasizes sustainability, process improvement, and continuous investment in technology in its search for a Logistics Manager. The Logistics Manager will run day-to-day operations, strengthen carrier and supplier relationships, and deliver cost-efficient, safe distribution practices while supporting the company’s Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) goals.

As the Logistics Manager, you will need to be comfortable leading a small operations team including hiring, training, and managing performance, be a clear communicator with cross-functional stakeholders, and an individual who embraces change and new technology and process improvements.
The Logistics Manager will also need to possess a strong analytical mindset with the ability to track, interpret, and act on logistics Key Performance Indicators, strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and develop teams as well as critical thinking and problem solving skills that offer practical solutions for day-to-day and strategic issues, and have a demonstrated commitment to safety and an appetite for sustainability practices in logistics.
Responsibilities: Own and optimize inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials and finished goods to ensure on-time, cost-effective deliveries Manage relationships with carriers, third party logistics (3PLs), and suppliers, negotiating rates and service levels Lead, coach, and develop a small logistics warehouse and team, establishing cross-training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Monitor and report logistics Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), freight cost per unit, on-hand accuracy, and carrier performance to senior leadership Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce transit costs and improve service such as routing, consolidation, and mode shifts Partner with Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Quality to align supply chain activities with demand and sustainability initiatives Ensure strict adherence to safety, compliance, and environmental procedures across logistics and warehouse operations Support IT and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) improvements related to logistics such as shipping integrations, label and scan processes, and reporting
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business, preferred Equivalent experience acceptable in lieu of degree 7+ years progressive logistics and supply chain experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role Manufacturing or heavy-industrial logistics background, preferred Experience with sustainability initiatives in transportation, preferred Lean or Six Sigma exposure, a plus Strong working knowledge of transportation modes, carrier management, routing, and domestic freight negotiation Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) shipping modules and basic Excel reporting
