We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive

Compliance Specialist

to join a growing team within the affordable housing industry. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in HUD and LIHTC compliance, as well as a strong background in rental subsidy programs and property management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and supporting on-site teams with audits, eligibility reviews, and compliance activities.

$70,000–$75,000 base plus 20% performance bonus Location:

Key Responsibilities Audit resident files to identify discrepancies or missing documentation Conduct site visits to standardize and review compliance files (initial and recertifications) Maintain and update logs of audited and pending files Coordinate with community teams to ensure timely file corrections Assist in preparations for state, federal, and program-specific audits Review housing applications for program eligibility and compliance Provide guidance on income/asset eligibility, rent limits, and compliance rules Apply updated rent and income limits; calculate utility allowances as needed Support HUD-related processes, including rent adjustments and contract renewals Track Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) requests and reconciliations Perform additional compliance-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential property management Strong familiarity with HUD and LIHTC compliance requirements Working knowledge of rental subsidy programs and regulatory agreements Certification such as Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or equivalent

preferred Proficiency with Yardi Voyager or similar property management software Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills Ability to communicate clearly and professionally across departments
