We’re seeking a skilled Field Buyer to support procurement activities for capital and turnaround projects within the petrochemical manufacturing sector. This role requires someone who can manage vendor relationships, negotiate effectively, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services to keep projects running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities Manage purchasing activities for construction, maintenance, and turnaround projects. Source and qualify suppliers to meet project requirements. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts while building strong supplier partnerships. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site leadership to support execution. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and standards. Track and expedite critical orders to prevent delays. Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
Qualifications 3+ years of procurement or field buying experience, ideally in industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environments. Travel to plant sites in the Golden Triangle. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Familiarity with capital project and turnaround procurement processes preferred. Ability to work on-site and coordinate across multiple teams. Proficiency with procurement systems and Microsoft Office tools.
