What You Will Do As a Tech Lead Manager , you’ll split your time between coding (50%) and leading a high-performing engineering team (50%). You will: Write production-level code and
contribute directly
to systems and products. Manage and mentor engineers, driving career growth and fostering a strong engineering culture. Lead
technical design, architecture decisions, and code reviews
to ensure scalability and reliability. Prototype and scale
evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, and RL environments . Set engineering guardrails that enable rapid growth without sacrificing stability. Hire, onboard, and scale top-tier engineering talent (including globally). Coordinate
cross-functional projects
with product, operations, and data teams. Translate
technical strategy into business outcomes , aligning engineering decisions with marketplace economics. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in engineering processes as the company scales. Ideal Background Strong background in backend engineering ( Python/Django or similar ), with proven experience shipping production systems. Experience managing and scaling engineering teams while contributing as an IC. Skilled in mentoring both individual contributors and engineering managers. Ability to hire top technical talent quickly in distributed team setups. Excellent communicator, able to explain technical trade-offs in business terms. Thrives in hyper-growth environments: brings order without bureaucracy. Preferred Familiarity with
LLM internals, recent benchmarks, and post-training . Experience building infrastructure and frameworks for research-adjacent projects. Track record of balancing
