Company Description
MR Architecture + Decor is a prestigious architecture and interior design firm specializing in high-end residential, commercial and luxury retail work currently with an opening in our decor department for an experienced interior designer.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in New York, NY. The Interior Design Project Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing interior design projects from conception to completion. Day-to-day tasks include space planning, creating interior design concepts, preparing plans, elevations and detailed furniture drawings; developing and maintaining furnishings budgets; sourcing and specifying furniture, finishes, textiles and fixtures, preparing and tracking orders, and collaborating with furniture vendors for custom furniture fabrication. In addition, the Interior Design Project Manager will interact with clients, attend meetings and visit showrooms and will work closely with MR's internal architecture team.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years professional experience specifically in the field of Interior Design, including 2+ years in project management.
Bachelor's or master's degree in interior design or related field
Strong space planning and interior design skills
Knowledge of furniture selection and specification
Excellent time-management skills and the ability to contribute to a very fast-paced and creative office
Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Project management experience specific to interior design projects
Proficiency in creating and reviewing construction drawings (in Auto CAD)
Proficiency in: Photoshop, MS Office; Adobe InDesign and Illustrator and QuickBooks are a plus.
Ability to work well with colleagues (in both decor and architecture departments), clients, vendors and construction managers.
Thorough knowledge of the local design industry, fine antiques, and fabric/furniture vendors

$50-100K / year
