Animal Care Technician I Location:

6-month contract (temp-to-perm) Pay Rate:

$19/hr.

Training & Schedule Training (first month):

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Post-training schedules (rotations required, including weekends & holidays): Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Saturday–Wednesday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Wednesday–Sunday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Additional details:

Potential overtime may be required; flexibility is expected.

Position Overview As an

Animal Care Technician I , you will work within the Animal Care Services group to provide daily care and support for a variety of species, including rats, mice, rabbits, dogs, cats, pigs, and monkeys. Duties include: Cleaning equipment, cages, and housing areas Assisting with animal care and handling Following all PPE and safety requirements This is an entry-level role with training provided and strong opportunities for growth.

Essential Responsibilities Provide humane, positive, and professional animal care Train in onboarding skills, including husbandry, handling, and equipment maintenance Collect, review, and verify data in both paper and electronic systems Follow quality control requirements Maintain equipment and work areas Support GLP, SOP, and IACUC compliance standards

Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred No previous experience required (training provided)

Additional Requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new systems) Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE use Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
