Petrie Construction is seeking a motivated, hardworking, reliable person willing to travel for the position of Commercial Construction Superintendent. Superintendent will work onsite and will be supported out of our Aberdeen, MD office. This role requires professional communication with owners, subcontractors, and architects. Applicant must have good temperament, be detail oriented, organized, and work independently with demanding deadlines. Our commercial construction jobsites are located throughout the US. Travel is required and will be compensated accordingly.
Responsibilities:
Manage on-site projects from start to finish.
Communicate daily with Project Manager.
Interface with PM, architect or client to address and resolve project issues and concerns.
Ensure and manage jobsite safety and quality control.
Participate in weekly meetings with owner, management and Project Manager.
Conduct subcontractor meetings and coordinate work as required.
Meet the project schedule and budget. Review and accurately update the project schedule with your Project Manager.
Consistently review details of project documents, drawings, and specifications to make sure all requirements are met.
Complete paperwork on-time daily: daily logs, schedule, purchase orders, time cards, etc.
Schedule project inspections.
Complete project punchlist within time frame required.
Skills & Proficiencies:
Computer competency with Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.
Smart phone/tablet competency (text, photos, email, etc.)
Expert knowledge of construction plans and documentation.
Ability to anticipate and solve problems before they arise.
Ability to instruct and inspect superior craftsmanship.
Excellence in managing the client relationship during a project.
Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, maneuver over uneven ground, and stand most or all of the day while walking the jobsite to properly supervise subcontractors and manpower.
Ability to multi-task, have strong scheduling ability, and be hands on when needed.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be trustworthy and work independently with limited supervision.
Qualifications: Minimum 7 years of commercial building construction experience successfully managing field crews and subcontractors required.
