Position Summary The Mechanic/Transporter in Las Vegas, Nevada, position responsibilities include local transportation/shuttling of fleet vehicles between garage sites and drop-off locations. Other duties include supporting the service shop, driving, maintaining shop cleanliness, picking up/delivering, ordering inventory, and providing light maintenance support. Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in preventive automotive maintenance services, including Oil Change with complimentary fluid top-off, battery services, tire maintenance (rotation and balancing), brake inspections, and fluid exchange services such as coolant and transmission flushes. Familiarity with engine performance services like tune-ups, spark plug replacement, and fuel system cleaning is also highly valued. Our Telecom fleet is light to medium-duty vehicles up to F450. Must have experience with light repairs, changing out batteries, driving Trucks, picking up parts, and providing support to our shop Technicians. 1st Shift: Monday - Friday: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay: $18:00 - $24.00/ Hour DOE - Paid weekly, every Friday! - Shuttle fleet vehicles within the assigned area
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Coordinate with the Fleet Manager and the Client vehicle pick-up and drop-off
- Parts/inventory ordering and pick up
- Replenishes vehicle with fuel, grease, fluids (oil, water, windshield cleaner), and air (tires) as needed
- Complete daily fueling logs
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Must have at least 2-5 years of professional driving experience
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
- Exposure to high-traffic areas while on the job
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
- Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong phone/customer service skills
- Must be able to work with or around chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
