Mechanic Job at Tomball Economic Development Corporation in Tomball

MECHANIC needed to perform troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment for repair.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Services and oversees major electrical, hydraulic and/or diesel engine repairs of all types of construction equipment as required to ensure proper working condition when leaving the shop.
2. Dismantles and reassembles/rebuilds equipment.
3. Fabricates parts and equipment as required to meet shop and customer needs.
4. Diagnoses complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems.
5. Performs check-ins and safety inspections and assists other equipment mechanics with general shop and equipment maintenance as needed.
6. Conducts preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime in the field or other remote settings.
7. Maintains a safe work environment and performs duties in accordance with safety standards.

Education & Experience:

1. 5+ years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment strongly preferred.
2. High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired.
3. Need to provide own tools.
4. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
5. Ability to prioritize work assignments.
6. Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments.
7. Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
8. Must possess a high degree of safety awareness and commitment.
9. Working knowledge of equipment design and safety requirements.
