Lead Logistics Analyst or Logistics Manager

Principal Function:
We are seeking an experienced logistics team member to oversee and execute all aspects of our company’s logistics operations. As the sole dedicated logistics professional within our mid-size organization, you will manage inbound and outbound freight across land, ocean, and air, coordinate warehouse transfers, negotiate carrier and freight forwarder agreements, and ensure compliance with customs regulations. You will also play a key role in implementing logistics software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
: Duties include, but are not limited to: ·
Manage end-to-end logistics operations, including inbound and outbound shipments via road, ocean, and air freight. ·
Coordinate inter-warehouse transfers to ensure optimal inventory flow and on-time delivery. ·
Select, negotiate, and manage contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers. ·
Oversee customs clearance, duties, and import/export compliance. ·
Implement and maintain logistics and transportation management software, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. ·
Monitor and analyze freight costs, service levels, and vendor performance to drive continuous improvement. ·
Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, sales, finance, and operations) to align logistics with business objectives. ·
Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and other logistics issues proactively, including claims management. ·
Develop and maintain logistics policies, procedures, and best practices. ·
Responsible for ensuring required certifications for performance of position are active and maintained. ·
Provide visibility into supply chain performance through reporting and KPIs.
Qualifications: ·
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience) ·
5+ years of hands-on experience in logistics, preferably in a small to mid-size company ·
Strong knowledge of international and domestic freight operations (land, ocean, and air) ·
Experience in customs regulations, import/export documentation, and duties management. ·
Proven track record in carrier negotiations and managing third-party logistics providers. ·
Ability to navigate transportation management software and experience with new implementations. ·
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. ·
