Post Closer – Mortgage Lending
Location: Downtown Manhattan, NY (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Pay: $25–28/hr | Salary Equivalent: $45–60k
Duration: Ongoing temp assignment with potential to convert to perm
Schedule: Full-time, Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:00pm (40 hrs/week)

About the Role
Our client, a nonprofit mortgage lending organization, is seeking an experienced
Post Closer
to join their lending team. This is a mission-driven environment that supports affordable homeownership and homeowner programs. You’ll be part of a collaborative team of 7–8, reporting into the Deputy Director and working closely with the VP of Lending. This role requires someone with mortgage post-closing experience who is detail-oriented, motivated, and able to manage a high volume of loan files. Responsibilities Send recordable documents for recording; troubleshoot rejections with the county to correct documents Confirm all required services (e.g., flood certs, credit reports) are pulled and corrected if needed Maintain HomeFix post-close / pre-servicing pipeline: Track construction completion Obtain final numbers from finance Prepare principal curtailment documentation (if applicable) Upload servicing transfer packages into Salesforce and notify capital loan partners Send completed capital files to funders/servicers Act as backup to closers for closing funds and set-aside funding Create pre-closing packages to upload in Salesforce: Pull legacy closed loan documents from Byte and compile into a package Prepare packages for loans currently closing Qualifications 2+ years’ experience in mortgage lending, preferably with post-closing responsibilities Strong organizational and document management skills Experience with mortgage notes, deeds, titles, CDs (Closing Disclosures), Loan Estimates, HELOCs, and BLCs Paralegal experience in real estate/mortgage closings a plus Comfortable handling 300+ loan files in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines Top 3 Keys to Success Mortgage Closing Experience
– organizing, reviewing, and processing closing documents Post-Closing Accuracy
– ensuring all loan packages are complete and compliant Administrative Strength
