Job Description
Purpose:
The Data Analyst is responsible for managing Career Development’s data infrastructure, ensuring data integrity, compliance reporting, and advanced analytics to support institutional goals. This role serves as the primary administrator for CareerConnect powered by Symplicity (CSM) and related platforms, while also leveraging modern analytics, automation, and AI tools to drive insights and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
System & Database Management
- Serve as principal administrator for CareerConnect (CSM); maintain databases, troubleshoot system issues, and manage account controls for the student body.
- Configure, automate, and maintain reports, dashboards, and modules in CareerConnect.
- Oversee import/export processes (Symport) and ensure smooth API syncs between Anthology and CareerConnect in collaboration with IMT.
- Test and evaluate new software/technology platforms; attend Symplicity seminars as needed.
- Support the migration of Symplicity data and reporting into Salesforce.
Data Quality & Compliance
- Conduct regular quality control audits, monthly data cleanups, and lifecycle status updates (Symport, Power Query, Anthology/CVWeb).
- Collaborate with the Compliance Manager to generate regulatory and accreditation reports; produce compliant digital binders and maintain Power BI accreditation dashboards.
- Create and manage graduate cohorts for accreditation reporting; supervise data entry and distribute cohort lists to staff as needed.
- Process confidential data in accordance with compliance guidelines.
Reporting, Analytics & Insights
- Design and maintain comprehensive data models integrating multiple sources (ODBC, CSM, CSV, CampusNexus, Excel, Power BI, Google Analytics).
- Automate and streamline data collection, integration, and reporting workflows.
- Conduct statistical and predictive analyses to inform business and operational decisions.
- Build visualizations (Power BI, Tableau) to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
Innovation & Advanced Techniques
- Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning methods to support business and data analysis.
- Leverage natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs) to extract insights from unstructured data.
- Develop new data-driven tools and solutions that enhance service delivery and reporting capabilities.
Training & Stakeholder Support
- Train staff and onboard new team members in CareerConnect functionality; assign Career Advisors to students monthly.
- Develop training materials and presentations to support adoption of new tools, modules, and processes.
- Act as subject matter expert on CampusNexus and Symplicity (CSM), advising on modifications and system enhancements.
- Provide frontline support for student, graduate, and staff CareerConnect inquiries.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in data modeling, extraction, and integration across diverse systems.
- Proficiency in T-SQL for database management, querying, and optimization.
- Advanced skills in Power BI (or Tableau) for visualization and dashboarding.
- Experience with statistical and predictive analysis.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, NLP, and automation for data analysis and process improvement.
- Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and training skills.
