Overview

As a Medical Receptionist at Golden State Dermatology, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk and providing exceptional service to our patients.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome patients, assist with check-in and check-out procedures, verify insurance coverage and eligibility, handle phone inquiries, and maintain patient records.
• Manage the appointment schedule, audit for future appointments, confirm attendance, and collect necessary information (e.g., insurance details and intake questions).
• Offer earlier appointments by contacting patients on waiting lists or with future slots when openings arise, focusing on filling the soonest available provider slots.
• Provide product education to patients and staff, and sell skincare products available for purchase.
• Multitask and manage tasks to ensure timely completion of responsibilities; additional duties may be assigned by the Practice Manager as needed.
• Strive to deliver exceptional service, ensuring patients feel welcome, comfortable, and well-cared-for during their visit.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills or a patient-centered mindset
• Experience in dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics preferred
• Knowledge of insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare, commercial, HMO)
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as EClinicalWorks, EMA, or similar (not required)
