Now Hiring: Quality Control Technicians
Location: Mokena, IL Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour Schedule: Must be available to work up to 12 hours per day Industry: Food Manufacturing
We are seeking an experienced Bilingual (English/Spanish) Quality Control Technician to join our team in Mokena, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing with in-depth knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, and compliance standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform continuous quality testing and inspections to ensure products meet food safety standards. Enforce cleanliness and safe working conditions on the production floor. Document and implement corrective actions for quality issues. Lead and support safety training programs to minimize food safety and workplace hazards. Maintain accurate audit and compliance documentation. Collect product samples and conduct shelf-life testing. Collaborate with the QC Supervisor on product specifications and improvements. Report production issues or bottlenecks to management. Calibrate and audit testing/measuring equipment. Approve finished goods for shipment, ensuring compliance. Support government inspections and audits. Monitor raw materials for compliance with standards. Investigate and resolve customer complaints. Remove defective products to prevent distribution. Oversee all production stages to maintain defect-free operations. Prepare reports on inspections, quality metrics, and trends. Recommend and support continuous process improvements. Skills & Physical Expectations:
Experience in quality control within food manufacturing. Knowledge of food industry standards (HACCP, GMP, BRC, SQF). Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to perform audits, equipment calibrations, and compliance checks. High attention to detail; able to work in a fast-paced food production environment. Physically able to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Safety Equipment / PPE Requirements:
Steel-toe safety shoes (required on the production floor). Hair & beard nets (must be worn at all times in production areas). Ear protection (optional but recommended). Clothing Requirements:
Clean, appropriate attire (no ripped, baggy, or bedazzled clothing). No hoodies; jeans only. Pants no more than 1 inch above the ankle. Shirts must not have buttons or items on chest pockets.
