Basic Job Functions: Responsibilities for a Components Technician include but are not limited to: Receive/generate Component orders and ensure order accuracy in a timely fashion to builders/customers. Build and maintain effective and profitable relationships with builders/customers. Coordination of component orders with internal team/external customers to ensure on time performance. Create sales and pricing strategies compatible with our goal of increased volume and profitability within the components department and be responsible for the successful implementation of such strategies. Coordinate component buyout items through Purchasing and outside vendors as required. Execute a scope of work "take-off" and clearly communicate a well-defined contract document. On some occasions this may require detailing specific parts and pieces from reviewing various sources of information (drawings, spec sheets, pictures, etc.). Utilize Nucor standard parts and details to effectively provide solutions to our customers. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Experience working directly with Microsoft Programs (Word, Outlook and Excel) Detailed Selection Criteria: Attention to Detail: Thorough in completing tasks and making sure that expectations are met. Initiative - Being proactive seeking out work that needs done and willing to take on responsibilities and challenges. Time Management - Effectively organizes and manages one's time to complete tasks while showing the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Preferences: Prior Technical Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction, or Engineering related fields. Prior customer service experience. Prior Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) experience in one or more of the following areas: Detailing, Estimating, Sales, Project Management and/or erection. Prior experience with CAD software.
