POSITION PURPOSE

The Data & Insights Analyst provides in-depth market research, including analyzing membership data to deliver recommendations for member satisfaction, projected trends and qualitative reporting. Analyzes, interprets and translates business data and organizational needs to execute key business decisions and support strategic initiatives for enhanced member value. Under the supervision of the Director Data and Insights, the analyst will focus on integrating research, analytics, and financial performance data into insights for leadership. This includes evaluating event economics, projecting revenues, highlighting financial risks, modeling 'what-if' scenarios both for dues and non-dues revenue streams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the design and development of surveys, data gathering and databases to access and preserve business intelligence.
  • Analyze data to help determine whether operations, processes and offerings meet the members' needs and membership expectations.
  • Extract data, quantify and summarize findings for internal stakeholders and tracks stakeholders' action plans to address findings.
  • Organize collected data, understand it, identify additional data needs and prepare reports highlighting member trends and statistics.
  • Perform gap analyses to measure the relevance and value of offerings for members globally and reports on the findings.
  • Conduct financial analysis to assess event attendance costs and revenues, forecast performance, and evaluate ROI.
  • Develop revenue projections for programs and initiatives, incorporating historical trends, market data, and strategic goals.
  • Run scenario and 'what-if' analyses to model the potential impact of operational or strategic changes, including pricing adjustments, attendance variations, and new revenue streams.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve business performance - applying quantitative methods to analyze and interpret information from multiple data sources (database information, financial reports, web analytics, usability, and optimization research).

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND
  • 2+ years of data analysis experience working in finance, operations, business analytics, and/or information technology.
  • Proven ability to conduct financial modeling, revenue forecasting, and cost-benefit analyses, preferably in an event or membership-based environment.
  • Experience evaluating program or event profitability, developing pricing models, and risk analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Skills and database management and mining.
  • Ability to produce advanced reports and analysis.
  • Experience with survey tools (e.g. Qualtrics); prefer familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Experience with analytical/statistical (SPSS/ others) software.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in business, mathematics, economics, sciences, or related field required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, without restrictions, approximately 5-10% per year.
