The Town is seeking an Automotive Technician to join our Fleet Department. This position performs skilled work in the mechanical repair, maintenance and service of all Town owned and operated automotive, light and heavy equipment. Repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance, fabrication and up-fits are performed with great accuracy and with an emphasis on timeliness and organizational priorities.The successful candidate must have a valid driver's license and must possess, or have the ability to possess within 6-months, a Class A CDL with Tanker and Air Brakes endorsement. Physical DemandsThis is heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical ability and stamina sufficient to maintain continuous physical effort throughout shift, including frequent lifting, standing, stooping, bending, crawling, reaching, twisting, climbing and working overhead. The work requires significant mobility and agility to complete repairs. Ability to work in close confined spaces.
