The Staff Accountant will support the financial operations of the company by performing a variety of accounting tasks, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit preparation. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

* Reconciliation of bank accounts, investment accounts, intercompany accounts, and prepaid expenses. * Process fixed asset additions and disposals, including depreciation. * Perform advanced monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. * Prepare allocation entries for quarries, equipment, job costs, and miscellaneous journal entries. * Perform subcontractor reconciliation and entry, including lien waiver tracking. * Reconcile and enter payment applications and process miscellaneous invoicing. * Conduct time and materials (T&M) reconciliation and analysis. * Prepare documentation and respond to year-end financial audit requests. * Assist with insurance renewals and audits. * Maintain organized filing systems and ensure proper record retention. * Complete contractor prequalification applications. * File annual reports with the Secretary of State. * Support Project Managers with financial and administrative requests. * Reconcile and file sales tax returns. * Update insurance policies with vehicle additions and changes. * Serve as backup for Accounts Payable, including invoice entry and check processing.

* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Willingness to learn new skills and participate in on-the-job training.

Preferred Skills:

* 1-3 years of accounting experience, in a construction or project-based environment a plus. * Experience with construction accounting systems, specifically Vista by Viewpoint, a plus, but will train in relevant software. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. * Familiarity with lien waivers, pay applications, and T&M billing a plus. * Knowledge of insurance and audit processes a plus.

Compensation details: 49000-52000 Yearly Salary
