GEICO is seeking a highly experienced Engineer to build high-performance, low maintenance, zero-downtime modern platforms and applications. You will help drive our Contact Center business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission.
Responsibilities
Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems;
Build product definition and leverage technical skills to drive the right solution;
Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle;
Work in a team environment utilizing AI and ML to streamline the operations of the contact center;
Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate engineering quality;
Define, create, and support reusable application components/patterns;
Utilize developer tooling and Azure services across the SDLC to perform advanced-level Java design, implementation, and maintenance activities under minimal direction;
Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems;
Ensure quality, usability, and performance of solutions;
Mentor and strengthen the technical expertise of engineering and product teams;
Influence leadership and share best practices; sponsor continuous learning.
Qualifications
Advanced programming experience with at least two modern languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, or C#) including object-oriented design;
Proficiency with AI/ML stack and libraries; experience shipping applied AI products;
Understanding of microservices architecture and extensible REST APIs;
Experience designing architecture and patterns for new and current systems;
Advanced understanding of DevOps concepts and cloud architecture;
Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code;
Strong problem-solving ability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
Knowledge of developer tooling across the SDLC;
In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms;
Ability to influence engineering direction and product roadmap; experience partnering with engineering teams to transfer research to production;
Publication history in credible conferences and journals.
Experience
12+ years of professional software development within a Java framework (J2EE, web containers and Java);
3+ years applied AI/ML experience;
10+ years of experience with architecture and design;
6+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service;
6+ years of experience in CI/CD deployments and infrastructure as code;
6+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
Salary $115,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final salary offer, including role scope, experience, education, work location, and market conditions.
