This is a strategic, cross-functional leadership role where you\'ll shape Firebolt\'s narrative, define our competitive edge, and ensure our products resonate with the developers, data engineers, and engineering teams building the next generation of data & AI applications.You\'ll drive messaging, launch strategy, product storytelling, and content across the customer journey—from top-of-funnel awareness to deep technical validation. You\'ll also partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Developer Relations to connect what we build with what the market wants and how customers buy.This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a product marketing function in a deeply technical, category-defining space.ResponsibilitiesDefine and continuously refine our product narrative to resonate with technical users in the data infrastructure space.Develop compelling messaging frameworks that clearly communicate value across channels and personas.Drive the strategy for product launches and major feature announcements.Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to deliver coordinated campaigns that create impact.Oversee the creation of technical content, sales collateral, competitive insights, customer stories, and thought leadership.Guide tone, structure, and storytelling across all product marketing outputs.Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Product and empower outbound engineering & GTM motion—helping turn innovations into externally facing stories and proof points.Work with Developer Relations and Field teams to scale technical storytelling and equip customer-facing teams with the right narratives and tools.Provide market and competitive intelligence to inform product strategy and roadmap planning.Hire, develop, and manage a team of product marketers.Set processes and operating rhythms that scale as Firebolt grows.Qualifications7+ years in product marketing, with deep experience in technical, fast-moving startup environments. You thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and get things done without waiting for perfect conditions.Track record of leading product marketing for deeply technical products. You\'ve driven messaging, positioning, and go-to-market for a data infrastructure product and you know how to make its value land with developers, data engineers, and infrastructure teams.Hands-on experience with open source. You know how to meet developers where they are, earn trust in technical communities, and turn real adoption into lasting momentum.Proven leadership experience scaling product marketing or product engineering teams. You know how to set direction, hire well, and build a high-performing team.Exceptional communicator, both written and verbal. You can distill complexity into clear, compelling stories that resonate with technical audiences.Builder\'s mindset. You\'re proactive, scrappy, and energized by the opportunity to define and scale a function from the ground up.Familiarity with leveraging AI in go-to-market workflows. You know how to use AI to enhance product storytelling, generate insights, and drive more efficient, impactful marketing execution.Compensation & BenefitsAt Firebolt, we are dedicated to fostering an environment of transparency and fairness in all aspects of our operations, including compensation practices. The pay range listed below reflects the base salary for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. As part of our compensation philosophy, the total compensation is tailored to each candidate and influenced by factors such as job-related skills, level of experience, relevant certifications, and geographical location, to name a few.Base salary range : $220,000 - $260,000.
