Position Summary Grayscale is seeking a Director, Capital Solutions – Crypto & On-Chain to lead the identification, structuring, and commercialization of investment opportunities sourced from the on-chain ecosystem. This role is built for a crypto-native, commercially minded operator who can connect the dots between emerging protocols, token mechanics, and institutional capital needs. Rather than executing feature roadmaps or writing long-form research, you are expected to source and shape investable opportunities, form relationships with on-chain projects, and collaborate across the firm to bring capital-ready products to life. This is a high-context, externally facing, and commercially driven role for someone fluent in DAOs, governance, and DeFi, but also comfortable engaging with legal, compliance, distribution, and investor-facing functions. Key Responsibilities
Source, track, and evaluate on-chain investment opportunities, including tokens, categories, governance actions, and ecosystem trends. Act as a market-facing lead for crypto-native investment opportunities, identifying partners, building relationships with protocols and DAOs, and maintaining deep ecosystem coverage. Partner with internal stakeholders to shape investment products or structures based on emerging opportunities (e.g. single asset vehicles, baskets, hybrids, SMAs). Communicate investment rationale, token-level insights, and capital formation opportunities in the form of internal memos, market briefs, and GTM proposals. Work cross-functionally to evaluate feasibility, scalability, and investor alignment for new product ideas. Stay close to governance forums, launch calendars, L2 and DeFi ecosystems to inform and update Grayscale’s product roadmap. Support distribution, capital markets, and investor relations with timely insights on product positioning, timing, and structure. Qualifications
7–10 years of experience across crypto investing, capital markets, partnerships, or product strategy, ideally with a focus on digital assets or DeFi. Demonstrated ability to source and vet token-level opportunities from within on-chain communities, DAOs, or open-source ecosystems. Comfort engaging directly with protocol teams, governance contributors, investors, and internal stakeholders. Strong understanding of tokenomics, incentive structures, smart contract upgrades, and governance risk. Familiarity with tools such as Dune, Token Terminal, DeFiLlama, Nansen, Allium, etc. Clear, compelling written and verbal communication skills; able to write crisp memos and engage senior stakeholders credibly. Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and highly organized — able to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and execute. Seniority level
