24 Seven is partnering with a large, well-known company in Portland, OR to help them find an Assistant Apparel Designer to join their team working 3 days total per week onsite. This is a part time hour, 3 month contract with potential to extend starting ASAP. They are open to fulltime hours if it's a great fit.
Ideal Candidate : will have at least 1–2 years of apparel design or product development experience with strong skills in reviewing samples and expertise in color, artwork, fabric, and trims.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Apparel Designer to support multiple apparel categories, including:
- Men’s: Sleep, Activewear, Sportswear
- Women’s: RTW, Sleep
- Children’s: Baby, Toddler, Kids – Boys and Girls
This role focuses on the end-to-end review of design samples, from lab dips through pre-production and TOP samples. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, quality, and brand consistency across all stages of sample development.
Scope of Review Includes:
- Color lab dip submits and approvals
- Artwork strike-off execution and application
- Fabric quality assessments
- Design details and trims across all sample stages
- Pre-production sample reviews
Responsibilities:
- Manage and review design samples across multiple categories and product lines.
- Partner with design and production teams to approve or provide feedback on lab dips, artwork, fabrics, and trims.
- Ensure all design elements meet quality, brand, and production standards.
- Track sample progress and communicate timelines or issues to cross-functional teams.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to vendors and internal partners throughout the sample process.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in apparel design, product development, or related field.
- Hands-on design background with proven ability to review and approve design submits/samples.
- Strong knowledge of color, artwork, fabric, and trims.
- Ability to work across multiple categories and manage competing priorities.
