We bring that vision to life through our values and culture.About the RoleAs a Senior Data Analyst on the Finance Capabilities team, you will own and evolve data solutions that support high-impact Finance processes. You will work with high-volume sales transactional data that supports financial reporting, audit readiness, and sales tax-related analysis. The focus will be on developing automated workflows, integrating and validating large data sets, and delivering insightful reporting solutions across complex finance domains. You will partner with cross-functional teams to improve data pipelines, enable analytics capabilities, and implement emerging technologies like generative AI and big data platforms. Your work will help ensure accurate and timely data delivery that supports compliance, planning, audit, and reporting activities across the enterprise.Core Responsibilities Include:* Build and automate scalable ETL workflows using tools such as Alteryx, SSIS, or Talend, with a focus on data validation, audit controls, and exception monitoring.* Manage the end-to-end flow of sales tax and transactional data from source through transformation to accurate, timely reporting.* Develop and support dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI, Domo, or equivalent platforms to enable planning, audit, and compliance processes.* Identify and implement automation opportunities using scalable data models, generative AI, and big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, GCP).* Troubleshoot data anomalies, resolve root causes, and support system updates and integrations to maintain accuracy and performance.* Support testing and validation of tax data pipelines and system changes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliability.* Maintain documentation of data definitions, workflows, and business logic; collaborate closely with Finance and Tech teams to align on data and reporting needs.* Partner with end users to provide training, support adoption of workflows, and troubleshoot reporting or data pipeline issues.Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.About You* Four-year degree in Information Technology, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.* 3+ years of experience supporting data operations, automation, or reporting processes within Finance, Accounting, Tax, or similar analytical environments.* Strong SQL skills and experience with ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx, SSIS, Talend). Experience working with financial, sales, or tax-related datasets is a plus.* Experience developing data visualizations using tools like Power BI, Domo, Tableau, or equivalent.* Familiarity with big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, GCP) and interest in exploring generative AI technologies.* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to accuracy and data integrity.* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.* Exposure to Python, generative AI tools, and tax compliance platforms is preferred.This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs.
