Overview
Dental Assistant - Temp position at Neibauer Dental Care (Garrisonville) joining Heartland Dental. The successful candidate will enjoy state-of-the-art technology, a supportive team, and a patient-first environment that encourages continuous learning.
As a Dental Assistant, you’ll be committed to delivering the best patient care to the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustain patient comfort, and provide appropriate education throughout treatment
- Review the patient’s health history to support quality care
- Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
- Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures, in accordance with state dental practice act
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
- Prepare treatment rooms with adherence to safety protocols following OSHA & CDC recommendations
- Manage supply and inventory levels, and place/expedite orders as needed
- Collaborate with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow

Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
- VA x-ray certification
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Access to minimum PHI for job-related functions; regular HIPAA training and data safeguards required
Preferred Experience
- 1+ years of experience in a dental setting
- Dentrix or other dental software experience
- Dental assisting school certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds
- Occasional travel for virtual or in-person training
- TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN)
