Substitute/Long Term Certified School Counselor
Candidates must hold a Pennsylvania certificate as a School Counselor. The current vacancy requires a minimum certification of Secondary School Counselor and is necessary until the position is formally filled. Interested candidates who are not retired under PSERS can apply to the district. Any PSERS retirees interested in serving as a substitute or long-term substitute can apply through Ignite Education Solutions, so as not to negatively impact PSERS retirement, or apply through the district with emergency permission from PSERS.

Candidates with additional certifications; knowledge in the use of technology to enhance student learning; demonstrated organizational skills and commitment to follow through on tasks; training and experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating functional behavior assessment and positive behavior & intervention programs; and training and experience in collecting and analyzing student data, including curriculum-based assessments, and implementing progress monitoring systems strongly desired.
The full-time position is under the Richland Education Association’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, with the starting salary negotiable based on experience and exceptional circumstances in accordance with Board Policy 304.1 - Credit for Salary Placement. The position includes sick days, personal days, emergency days, other appropriate leaves, full healthcare benefits, vision, and dental.
