Software Engineer Location: Aurora, CO Required: Secret Clearance W2 hourly Contract to Hire Only Pay: $50.00 to $90.50/hr. D.O.E. Based on the benefits chosen ***No C2C, we can NOT work with outside agencies/vendors, and we can NOT do 1099-US SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED*** Different Levels of Roles Available. REQUIRED * Active Secret Clearance * A bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2-7 years of relevant software engineering experience.
* Experience with Java software development in a Linux environment
* Experience with Python development in a Linux environment.
* Experience developing software in an Agile and/or DevOps environments.
Qualifications Preferred: * Experience with C++
* Experience working with the Atlassian Tool suite.
* Previous work satellite GPS software desirable.
* Experience troubleshooting or debugging software.
* Experience with unit and automated functional test concepts.
* Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models
What You Will Do * Develop and maintain Python and Java-based backend applications for satellite ground systems.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement robust server-side solutions.
* Modify and improve existing codebases for enhanced performance and scalability.
* Conduct software design and code reviews, integrating best practices and innovations.
* Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Agile principles.
* Participate in system integration and project milestone completion under guidance from supervisors.
* Keep abreast of advancements in Java and related technologies to drive continuous innovation.
What You Will Learn * Modern DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.
* Software lifecycle practices for defense projects.
* The importance and workings of satellite ground systems.
