Position Summary Are you ready to make a difference in your community? As a
Utility Operator , you will play an essential role in ensuring safe and efficient water and wastewater treatment by performing laboratory analyses, maintaining equipment, and troubleshooting operational issues. This position involves working on a shift schedule and requires physical and mental effort, problem-solving, and adherence to City, State, and Federal regulations . Normal Shift:
2nd Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm); Two-week rotation. Week 1 : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday Week 2 : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants, including telemetry controls, motors, pumps, and process equipment. Monitor and control water treatment, distribution, and wastewater systems. Conduct sample collection and analysis, including water treatment, wastewater, and bacteria samples. Perform minor and major repairs to plant equipment and facilities. Maintain records by calculating and entering data into computerized systems daily. Ensure compliance with all City, State, and Federal regulations. Monitor and maintain the press building and chemical stock. Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer inquiries. Maintain a valid State operator's license and participate in safety compliance. Minimum Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker. High School graduate or GED certificate or two (2) years of applicable experience. Must have a Class "D" water and wastewater license or obtain within one (1) year. Motor Vehicle Operator's license, valid in the state of Missouri. Cannot be colorblind. Basic computer skills. Why Join?
