Basic Function: Conduct tests, collect data, and maintain product performance test databases. Assist in product development and production testing. Significant Responsibilities: Performs specific job responsibilities: Evaluates jacks by testing and adjusting based on test data. Qualifies components per test requirements and develops adjustment methods based on performance category and lot numbers. Assemble mechanical and electronic parts according to work instructions and assembly drawings. Recognize cosmetic and functional discrepancies on parts and assemblies. Operate solder pot according to work instructions. Read Bills of Materials and Shop Packs to include the router and pick list. Clean solder pot according to safety and operating procedures. Perform final assembly and tests on cables. Inspect assemblies for conformance to standards. Operate Cirrus and Signature PCB test equipment. Ensure each product passes testing requirements to standards. Load and operate the IDC Insertion Machine Operate other machinery as directed Promotes OCC’s service excellence and quality. Provides excellent service to customers; builds strong relationships and team cohesiveness; focuses on quality and positive solutions; communicates respectfully; demonstrates compassion and understanding in response to customer request/needs. Champions OCC’s vision and values; complies with policies and procedures, ethical standards and Code of Conduct.
Minimum Qualifications Required: Education & Experience: Two year degree in electronics, mechanics, or industrial technology or 3 to 5 years equivalent experience Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: Soldering Set up and operation of test equipment. Identify product components and assemblies. Determine appropriate tests, sampling, measurements, and procedures. Read and understand product design drawings, schematics, and technical drawings. Use precision measurement tools and devices such as Network Analyzers, Time Domain Reflectometers, and high voltage testing equipment. Working Conditions:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and must be reasonably ambulatory. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. This job requires a sighted individual (i.e., vision corrected to 20/20) for significant reading and computer usage. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. This work also requires an individual with normal hearing (i.e., hearing corrected to normal ranges). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.
