- Other Details: The facility which is stroke-certified, trauma level 1, and PEDs level 1 is looking for a provider to cover clinical hours only. This position is for an advanced practice provider in a Level IV, 56-bed NICU with very high acuity, where APPs collaborate closely with physicians but are primarily responsible for overseeing the daily care of neonates. The schedule includes mostly night and weekend shifts, with some day shifts available, and 24-hour shifts can also be accommodated. Weekday shifts run Monday through Friday with day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and evening/night shifts from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., while weekend shifts run Saturday and Sunday with day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and evening/night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Staffing typically includes 5 6 APPs during the day and 2 3 APPs on evenings, nights, and weekends. Orientation involves three weekday shifts, two evening/night shifts, and two weekend shifts, during which APPs receive EMR access, a photo ID, and scrub access, and shadow a current APP. Providers must be able to participate in both ground and air neonatal transports, requiring two one-hour online courses before their first day and a 45-minute in-person training at the transport facility. Additionally, a 4-hour, 45-minute online EMR training must be completed before the start date. Proficiency in PICC, UVC, and UAC line placement, chest tube insertion, lumbar punctures, and intubations is required.
