About the Role: The Production & Material Planning Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless coordination of production schedules and material availability within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for optimizing production workflows to meet customer demand while minimizing inventory costs and avoiding production delays. The manager will lead cross-functional collaboration between procurement, production, and logistics teams to maintain efficient supply chain operations. By analyzing production data and forecasting material requirements, the role ensures that resources are allocated effectively to support continuous manufacturing processes. Ultimately, this position drives operational excellence by balancing production capacity with material supply to achieve on-time delivery and high product quality standards. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in production planning or material management within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience managing production schedules and material requirements planning (MRP) systems. Proficiency with ERP system SAP. Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management principles. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a relevant field or professional certification such as APICS CPIM or CSCP. Demonstrated success in implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Strong analytical skills with experience using data visualization and reporting tools. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with customer demand and capacity constraints. Coordinate material planning activities to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components. Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to manage lead times and resolve supply chain issues. Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock while preventing shortages or excess. Analyze production performance metrics and adjust plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Lead and mentor the production and material planning team to achieve departmental goals. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and logistics. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and operational workflows. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Skills: The required skills enable the Production & Material Planning Manager to develop accurate production schedules and manage material flow efficiently, ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly without interruption. Leadership and communication skills are essential for coordinating between departments and guiding the planning team to meet organizational objectives. Analytical skills are used daily to interpret production data, forecast demand, and adjust plans proactively to mitigate risks.
