Our client, a leading manufacturer of wire and cable products, is currently seeking a 3rd shift Level II Maintenance Technician to support their industrial operations. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring equipment reliability, production efficiency, and workplace safety by performing a wide range of electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks on complex manufacturing machinery. Important Note: This is not an assembler or conveyor technician role. Candidates must have direct maintenance experience on actual manufacturing machinery and be able to clearly describe the types of equipment they've worked on. The role demands a strong multi-craft background and a readiness to physically get on the floor to tear down and rebuild machines as needed. Key Responsibilities: Perform complex maintenance and repairs on motors, control systems, drive units, and manufacturing machinery not just conveyor systems Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures using methodical, root-cause analysis Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and OEM service manuals Conduct equipment alignments, overhauls, part replacements, and perform both planned and emergency electrical work Use test devices such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to ensure system safety and performance Maintain accurate service records in CMMS and help drive continuous improvement Mentor and support junior technicians and operators on best maintenance practices Collaborate in process improvement and reliability projects

Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree preferred Minimum 5 years of hands-on industrial manufacturing maintenance experience Must be able to describe past work with actual machines (e.g., extruders, draw machines, cutting/winding equipment not just conveyors) Strong background in both electrical and mechanical maintenance Experience working on heavy-duty industrial equipment in a fast-paced setting Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms Comfortable using shop tools (drill press, band saw, grinders) and precision measuring devices Proven experience reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting down to the component level Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, crawl under/around machinery, and work in confined spaces Completion of maintenance certification or trade testing strongly preferred Quality & Safety Expectations: Stay up to date with industry standards and procedures through regular training Immediately report any hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents Maintain compliance with all safety policies, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry Ensure proper handling of materials to minimize environmental impact
