SUMMARY The position of Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration and support of various software and hardware systems, as well as preparing, configuring and troubleshooting. The Systems Administrator maintains specifications and security policies relating to SVB’s technology infrastructure. The position also oversees outsourced hardware and software operations and manages servers, telecommunications and assists in disaster recovery functions.

The Systems Administrator assures compliance with all SVB policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations. In addition, the Systems Administrator at times may work before or after bank hours on special projects or provide emergency support if needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES Responsible for the maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers and virtualization. Provide first contact support, which includes receiving calls and email requests, opening and logging incidents and tasks, addressing issues that can be quickly resolved and for all others, escalating when appropriate. Key contact with bank’s software vendors. Identify, report and repair all security vulnerabilities before incidents occur using patches and proper configurations. Interfaces with outside vendors in the event of a system failure, reporting downtimes, repairs needed and cost estimates to supervisors. Assists other departments as necessary as it relates to product integration and support. Provide technical support on projects, working closely with project managers.

Create and manage Windows Containers, OU’s, network accounts, login scripts and group policies. Prepares documentation for federal/state examiners and outside independent auditors in their regular examinations of the bank. Participate as a member of the Business Continuity Team and IT Steering Committee. Involvement in other bank committees as assigned. Participate and volunteer (when possible) in non-profit organizations-providing an opportunity to improve the communities the bank serves. Administer asset

management/inventory

for information systems including network, hardware, software and equipment. Participates in the evaluation of vendor hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment products, recommends purchases consistent with the bank’s strategic objectives. Assist in evaluating user requests for new or modified hardware or software changes to determine feasibility, cost and time required, and compatibility with and capabilities of the current system. Coordinates system and equipment needs and installation with branch facilities.

SECONDARY DUTIES The position of System Administrator performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The position of Systems Administrator is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY The environment for this position is an open office that is mostly clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will.

The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 30 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

MENTAL DEMANDS The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate to reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a college or university, five years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably, work-related experience would consist in the financial industry. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Strong demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, SharePoint Online and virtual servers. Advanced computer skills in understanding networking and desktop

support Proficient math skills Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees. Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations. Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties. Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $80,000 annually depending on experience
