We help organizations grow. The LMS engineering team is responsible for building and scaling the technology stack that powers our advertising business including advertiser experiences, ad serving platform and ad products. The Audience, Identity, & Measurement team drives impactful B2B marketing by streamlining sales and marketing alignment through automated workflows. They empower advertisers to precisely target high-value audiences using LinkedIn’s rich professional data, while simultaneously developing innovative measurement and media buying solutions, rigorously validating ROI through both on-platform and third-party testing to provide data-driven insights for optimal campaign performance. Operating with a strong commitment to user privacy, the team advocates for data minimization and anonymization, embeds privacy-by-design principles into all marketing workflows and technology selections, continuously monitors compliance with evolving privacy laws, and achieves responsible data usage through close cross-functional coordination with legal, engineering, data, and marketing teams.As a Sr. Director of Engineering Audience, Identity, & Measurement, you will be responsible for leading a team of world class applied researchers, ML/AI, and full stack engineers who are solving cutting-edge problems to empower large & small businesses to reach, engage, and convert professional audiences at scale. You will build a strong technology-driven culture, oversee talented scientists and engineers, develop a strong bench of talent across people and technical leadership, and help the team build industry-leading AI-based solutions for the advertising ecosystem.ResponsibilitiesYou will build and ship software, drive architectural decisions and implementation across LMS teams.You will drive the adoption of cutting-edge solutions and methods to enable innovative marketing solutions products.You will lead cross team/cross-functional discussions and drive alignment on product/technology strategy.You will define the bar for quality and efficiency of software systems by developing best practices and strategies that balance business impact, operational efficiency, and cost, while actively raising the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn.You will act as one of the primary domain experts to influence technology choices.You will lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.QualificationsBasic QualificationsBachelors degree in a quantitative field - Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Economics or related fields15+ years of experience in management positionsPreferred QualificationsStrong background in AI/ML techniques with applications to the Advertising domain.Proven experience designing and building scalable, reliable infrastructure for marketing technology platforms, with emphasis on data pipelines, eventing systems, and integration across adtech, CRM, and analytics ecosystems.A proven track record of delivering end-to-end solutions for high QPS systems, working with massive amounts of data.Experience managing teams of 100+ individuals and first/second-line managers.Ability to lead by example and inspire the team to perform at a high level, and collaborate across different teams.Good understanding of large-scale engineering systems and big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, distributed key-value stores, streaming processes, recommender systems, statistical methods, and experimental design.Highly motivated and able to work with ambiguous fast-changing problem landscapes, convert vague and ill-defined problems into well-defined problems, take initiative and encourage consensus building across partners.Strong leadership abilities to communicate and drive cross-functional efforts.Good relationship-building and people skills.Publications at conferences and patents are highly desirable.Suggested SkillsPeople LeadershipAds experienceAI/ML experienceBenefits and Equal OpportunityWe offer generous health and wellness programs and time away for employees at all levels. LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $238,000 to $390,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and work location. This may differ in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package may include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and/or other incentive compensation plans.
