About the Role: Fragomen, an Am Law 100 firm and the leading immigration services provider, is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our team. The role will require a strong Excel skillset with a passion for delivering high quality data and visualizations. The role will not require prior immigration experience, but an interest in learning our field will be a key to success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide data analysis and reporting services to support attorneys, paralegals, legal teams, and clients.
  • Assist with preparing client reports and arranging large data sets to produce clearly translatable action items based on internal data.
  • Perform internal database information clean-up as needed.
  • Use advanced Excel features such as xLookup, conditional formatting, filtering and macros to automate data sorting for clear presentation.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through quality control measures when handling sensitive or high-volume information.
  • Analyze immigration data with Excel-based tools for case-specific tracking and immigration lifecycle management.
  • Create dashboards, pivot tables, charts, and formulas to monitor immigration metrics and client-specific data insights.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert within employment-based immigration and provide guidance to the greater team.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and client stakeholders to generate custom reports and presentations.
  • Perform audits and data integrity checks within Fragomen’s case management system and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Work with clients to perform intake of cases, troubleshooting issues and establishing case strategy, along with recommending solutions and process improvements.
  • Translate data into action items for the team, and clearly communicate next steps to internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and regularly look for opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization with processes, products, or services.

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience in a data analysis role.
  • As this role supports highly important immigration data, candidates without prior immigration experience should have a strong interest in immigration law and the immigration field.
  • Excel experience is required.
  • A variety of Excel skills, e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and macros are all preferred.
  • Experience creating high quality data and data cleansing.
  • Experience leveraging data filters, conditional formatting, formulas and macros to sort and manipulate large datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines.
  • Experience building data visualizations.
  • Desire to contribute to a positive work environment through collaboration and teamwork.
