Overview
Ignite Innovation with Data - Join Emerson as a Senior Data Analyst! This onsite role is in Marshalltown, IA. Must be able to commute or relocate to Marshalltown, IA.
In this role, you will be at the intersection of data science, machine learning, and industrial innovation. You will harness advanced analytics to predict and prevent equipment failures, optimize performance, and advance reliability in industrial systems.
Responsibilities
- Dive Deep into Data: Analyze valve performance metrics from diverse sources to uncover signs of wear, degradation, or potential failure before they become problems.
- Discover Hidden Patterns: Use advanced statistical techniques, data mining, and machine learning tools to reveal trends, anomalies, and performance insights.
- Tell the Story Visually: Design compelling dashboards, charts, and visualizations that make complex data easy to understand and act on.
- Drive Decisions with Insight: Craft impactful reports and presentations that translate findings into strategic recommendations for stakeholders.
- Champion Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of the data used in analysis.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of applicable experience
- Experience with data analysis and condition monitoring techniques
- Experience with or willingness to learn programming in Python and R or similar
- Experience with or willingness to learn data visualization tools like Grafana and PowerBI or similar
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Authorization to work in the U.S. No sponsorship will be provided
Preferred qualifications
- 8-10 years of applicable experience
- Experience and knowledge in control theory as applicable to control valve applications
- Strong understanding of control valve components, actuators, positioners, and control loop dynamics
- Experience with product evaluation, analytics or diagnostics
- Strong understanding of electronics, signal processing, and measurement techniques
- Certification in reliability engineering (e.g., CMRP) or predictive maintenance technologies
- Experience in process industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation
Location
Marshalltown, IA — central Iowa, close to Des Moines and Ames, with access to urban amenities and local outdoor recreation.
