Marketing Capabilities Manager plays a critical role in helping to analyze, develop and implement the annual Capabilities plan; executing the plan with excellence by onboarding all Marketing new hires, leading culture-building initiatives, leading the internship program, and raising the functional-specific capabilities of the KDP Marketing organization. This individual will report into the Senior Manager, Portfolio Initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring 5 years of progressive marketing or brand experience and a self-starter leadership style that fuses inspiration with a passion for making a difference.
This role is based at the KDP Frisco, TX office location with some travel required during high periods of recruitment
Key Responsibilities
Deploy a general manager mindset to lead intern recruiting efforts, the MBA Marketing internship program, new hire onboarding initiatives, and Marketing training and development
Lead the development and execution of key learning strategies to build capabilities and sustain a team of high performers
Lead the evolution of digital capabilities across Marketing by building digital competencies quickly to ensure teams are staying current on industry trends
Help support Marketing onboarding initiatives to ensure team members get up to speed and working quickly towards key objectives
Help drive team engagement by supporting the rollout of culture charter initiatives
Help drive and maintain the unique KDP culture; own your personal development to grow in our organization
Inspire others to take action through authentic leadership, passion, and a commitment to winning
Lead Intern Recruiting Efforts, specifically the MBA Marketing Internship
Lead overall strategic direction of the MBA Marketing Internship program
Identify robust recruiting strategy and approach; including identifying target schools, organizing engagement multi-point engagement sessions (info sessions, coffee chats, etc.), leading the team through the application assessment phase
Build relationships with advisors and MBA students at school
Leverage internal and external insights, translating them into actionable MBA recruiting plans
Lead participation in early engagement opportunities
Identify and recruit top MBA-level talent: screen applications, review resumes, evaluate HireVue, facilitate 2 rounds of interviews, and extend offers
Develop an engagement and robust 10-week summer internship program; engaging with Brand to develop projects, assign projects to students, lead onboarding experience, provide updates to leads and Marketing Leadership team on program throughout summer, coach interns and leads as needed based on feedback; culmination in leading through extending final offers
Deliver Innovative Training Curriculum That Drives Action and Addresses KDP Marketing Skill Gaps
Lead the design, development, implementation and evaluation of internal KDP Marketing learning and development programs that support organizational objectives
Adapt and customize existing curricula to meet the needs of the team; lead training initiatives and conduct training for the Marketing team on an ongoing basis
Drive organizational and customer engagement, alignment and excitement for training curriculum
Execute the Marketing Capabilities Breakthrough Strategy with excellence
Develop strong commercial knowledge and business acumen to support annual Capabilities strategy planning
Encourage organizational and customer engagement, alignment and excitement for annual plans
Encourage Organizational Excitement and Drive Engagement through Communication Strategy & Messaging
Be the steward of the KDP brand and ensure all candidate-facing and on-campus communication, onboarding, culture and training initiatives align with the overall Marketing Capabilities strategy
Drive accountability, participation and engagement across the KDP Marketing team to sustain behavior change and skill implementation
Use entrepreneurial thinking to find new and better ways to accomplish goals
Measure Success
Lead post-launch analyses for Marketing Capabilities key initiatives; creating metrics to measure success and/or to serve as guidelines to adjust plans to deliver against growth agenda; key metrics include surveys, focus groups, roundtable discussions, etc.
Own and manage portions of the Marketing Capabilities budget working with external and internal partners, including finance to deliver on target
Set high performance standards, measure for success, and adjust plans to deliver against growth agenda
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Marketing or related field
- Strong project management skills, and written and verbal communication skills
- CPG/Beverage experience from a Fortune 500 CPG corporation a plus
- Experience with campus recruiting and/or leading team training and development is a plus
