Overview
Human Resources Generalist position at Miraval Resorts & Spas. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role manages day-to-day HR department operations and supports policies, processes, and procedures in alignment with Miraval’s guidelines.
Summary

Essential functions and responsibilities include supporting the HR department, administering programs, and assisting with compensation, benefits, training and development, performance management, internal communications, workers’ compensation, and HRIS systems.
Essential Functions
- Assist the Director of Human Resources with the daily responsibilities of the HR Department.
- Ensure Equal Employment Opportunity policies and regulations are properly administered.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal employment regulations.
- Develop reporting processes and HR metrics (e.g., training, interdepartmental transfers, promotions, wage and benefits comparisons).
- Organize, schedule, and conduct compliance training programs.
- Support the Director of HR in spearheading the Recognition process and plan colleague-focused meetings and events.
- Assist in planning, design, and administration of the resort’s colleague development and training programs; conduct training classes and coordinate ongoing programs.
- Oversee and manage the HRIS; serve as subject matter expert and train managers on system functionality.
- Counsel supervisors and managers on HR practices and policy interpretation to motivate colleagues.
- Manage workers’ compensation claims and reporting.
- Manage unemployment claim and compensation reporting and processes.
- Assist benefits coordinator in administering medical, dental, vision, disability, life, EAP, and voluntary programs; reconcile invoices and prepare payment requests.
- Process terminations and colleague legal status changes.
- Complete annual OSHA log.
- Maintain and update colleague benefit files.
- Ensure completion of performance reviews by department managers.
- Support colleague safety, welfare, and wellness initiatives.
- Organize and participate in community outreach and support activities with the HR team.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours when needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred or a combination of education and related experience in Human Resources, organizational development, or related field. PHR or SPHR certification is a plus. At least 3-5 years of work experience related to the Human Resources function, preferably within the hospitality industry.

- Solid knowledge of Human Resources practices, principles, and administration
- Colleague relations experience in a non-union environment
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management in written and verbal form

- Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills using policy and factual information
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; HRIS familiarity; online job posting as needed
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
- Bilingual/Spanish preferred
