Job Description Description: The CovationBio Sorona® business is seeking an Electrical Engineer at its Kinston, N.C. site. This position will primarily provide Power Distribution and electrical safety leadership for the site. Other skill sets that would make a candidate competitive is experience with PLC’s, electrical drives, and instrumentation. The role will also help drive continuous improvement working with a technical team representing all disciplines. This unique and challenging position at a site with both modern electrical infrastructure and installations from the 1950’s offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to plant reliability. Requirements: Responsibilities: • Provide power distribution engineering support for all aspects of Sorona ® manufacturing. This includes medium and low voltage on site. • Maintain existing electrical standards for the site and develop new as needed. • Lead the effort to maintain electrical safety culture in the organization • Interface with the local utility company on issues related to incoming high voltage source to the site. • Troubleshoot controls issues with the operations and electrical team as required. • Evaluate site substation and motor control center infrastructure and maintain a 5-year strategy to replace, overhaul, and upgrade as needed. • Provide electrical design support on-site capital improvement projects. This will include scope and review of site minor projects (less than $1M) as well as review of large capital improvements (greater than $1MM) and ensure these installations meet local and national electrical standards. • Job could be expanded to include design for large capital jobs depending on skill and experience. • Provide guidance for reliability program for electrical equipment, including specific work and preventative maintenance procedures • Finalize arc flash settings for portions of plant, maintain existing arc flash information using software. • Implement and maintain coordination settings for 480V substations through to the load. • Lead failure analysis efforts related to site power distribution • Interpret and utilize NEC and local electrical codes, as well as NFPA code as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering 3-5 years of plant manufacturing experience Working knowledge of E&I drawings including electrical schematics, logic diagrams and P&I diagrams Ability to use drawings, diagnostic data and field observations to troubleshoot power distribution issues Ability to size electrical installations and specify equipment when necessary for site upgrades and changes.
