Full Time, 35 hours/week, at least three days working onsite. Responsibilities & Duties
Maintain and manage the social content calendar and channel strategy, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and meeting deadlines. Report to museum-wide content groups on a weekly basis. Oversee the day-to-day production and execution of social media content across Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, Threads, and LinkedIn. Develop social media campaigns for exhibitions, events, and programs to drive engagement, visitation, and earned revenue. Present social strategies at cross-function meetings. Edit all social media content, ensuring proper grammar, adherence to best practices for each channel, and overall alignment with SFMOMA tone, brand, visual identity. Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to gather content, obtain clearances, and coordinate proper reviews and approvals. Manage influencer strategy by establishing and maintaining relationships with social media influencers to develop a strong network that expands SFMOMA’s visibility and community engagement. Plan and coordinate influencer activations and events, from outreach and logistics to on-site support. Liaise with external partners and collaborators to coordinate co-promotional opportunities. Monitor and respond to community engagement in line with institutional guidelines. Demonstrate a deep understanding of target audiences and effective tactics to grow audiences and increase engagement. Track, analyze, and report on content performance metrics to inform ongoing optimization. Provide monthly, quarterly, yearly, and campaign-level social media reports. Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to inform content execution. Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Minimum of four (4) years of experience in social media management, content production, or digital marketing Strong understanding of social media strategy Strong copywriting and copyediting skills for social is a must. Strong content creation skills, including graphic design and video editing; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere) or equivalent tools Demonstrated ability to manage a content calendar and oversee daily social media workflows Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience with influencer or partnership coordination, including event support, relationship management, and cross-promotional initiatives Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across teams and with external partners, including the ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public, artists, vendors, and museum staff at all levels Analytical mindset, comfortable tracking metrics and using insights to inform content decisions Knowledge of current social media trends, best practices, and platform-specific nuances Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to maintaining the museum’s brand voice and quality standards Interest, background, and knowledge of art history a plus. Knowledge of or keen interest in learning modern and contemporary art and the SFMOMA collection Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality Salary:
