Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable
Lead Cook
to join our kitchen team. In this role, you’ll work alongside the Head Chef and sous staff to help lead daily operations, guide other cooks, and ensure every dish meets Coopers’ high standards. You’ll be a key player in maintaining consistency, quality, and kitchen efficiency in a fast-paced pub setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily kitchen operations, especially during peak service hours
Supervise and support line cooks and prep staff; provide coaching and mentorship
Prepare menu items—pizza, wings, sandwiches, smoked meats, entrees—with consistency
Monitor timing, quality, and presentation of dishes before they leave the kitchen
Assist in prep work, mise en place, and inventory restocking
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
Help manage food waste, cost control, and portion consistency
Collaborate with management to develop specials and seasonal menu items
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and local health regulations
Step in to handle orders, cooking stations, or other line tasks when needed
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience in a kitchen environment—line cook or similar roles preferred
Ability to lead, train, and motivate cooking staff
Strong multitasking skills and ability to thrive under pressure
Great attention to detail, timing, and quality control
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation best practices
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and high-volume shifts
Positive attitude, reliability, and team-first mindset
