POSITION SUMMARY:

KEMRON is seeking a Senior Project Manager responsible for managing environmental investigation and remediation projects, from preliminary assessment to remediation of contaminated properties. The role includes supervising project engineers, geologists/scientists, engineers, field technicians, site superintendents, and craft labor during project execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:

Manage and supervise project engineers, scientists, site supervisors, and craft labor.

Manage and execute subcontracts with various partners and contractors.

Delegate work based on expertise, experience, and workload.

Review technical reports related to site assessment, inspection, or remediation.

Coordinate investigation activities and remedial actions.

Possess knowledge of environmental regulations such as CERCLA/RCRA and asbestos abatement/demolition.

Forecast Estimate to Complete based on costs and remaining work.

Update field activity schedules in coordination with the site superintendent.

Interface with clients and regulators as the primary point of contact.

Track project progress and costs using Microsoft Project 2000.

Manage multiple projects, costs, and invoicing.

Prepare work plans and proposals for additional work.

Maintain risk registers and recommend mitigation strategies.

Oversee subcontractor performance and resolve disputes.

Coordinate field activities of subcontractors and staff.

Participate in QA/QC conference calls.

Manage project teams including engineers, scientists, and technicians.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology.

PE or PG registration preferred.

At least 10 years of experience managing landfills and radiological soil removal projects.

Ability to prepare and review technical reports.

Experience managing subcontractors and resolving disputes.

Proficiency in managing multiple projects, costs, and invoicing.

40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required, with annual updates.

Strong prioritization, multitasking, and deadline management skills.

Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and in teams.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL and SharePoint is a plus.

Personality traits: positive, organized, meticulous, self-motivated, and efficient.

WORK CONTEXT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

Travel to project sites in Chicago and the Midwest.

Support field activities for up to one week at a time.

Work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Assess the accuracy and thoroughness of tasks.
